Location
Lower Sutton Farm, also known as "The Dinosaur Farm" is situated between Chale and Brighstone on the Military Road (A3055), which is the main road running along the south-west coast of the Isle of Wight.
We are to be found approximately three miles south-east of the village of Brighstone, between Isle of Wight Pearl and Chale.
Your own transport is recommended if you stay with us on the farm, as we are approximately 3 miles from the nearest bus route. We are close to the Isle of Wight Cycle Route and a network of lanes and rights of way.
The farm is situated in a beautiful coastal Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), ideal area for walking, bird watching, star gazing, fossil hunting and cycling. Quoted in the Isle of Wight County Press by the Vectis Astronomical Society: "One of the best sites to observe the sky is the Dinosaur Farm Museum on the Military Road".
The nearest beach can be accessed via Shepherd's Chine, less than a mile down the Military Road towards Chale. What many people consider to be the best beach on the Island is five miles away at Compton Bay.
There are pubs in the nearby villages of Brighstone, Shorwell and Chale.
